one of the things about livejournal that frustrated me at first is the "current mood" selection. the pre-made ones never ever accurately describe what my mood really is. the whole business of the pre-selected moods and cute animated emoticons © is enough to make someone get a paid subscription so they can fill in their own.

or that's the way i saw it at first.

now it's a challenge for me to come up with bizarre and esoteric moods. you know the sort; the kind that help you win at scrabble. so far i have been:

  • facetious
  • a loose end
  • semantic
  • grey
  • sardonic
  • isolated
  • vague
  • flummoxed
  • loquacious
  • refrigerated
  • oh, ick.
  • reclusive
  • perverse
  • i have no mood.
  • focused
  • quizical
  • drowsy
  • finicky & fussy
  • distracted
  • bemused
  • perplexed

  • concerned
  • smug

i haven't been verbose or phantasmagorical yet, but i look forward to it. yes, i know i'm being needlessly semantic and all snotty-and-smarter-than-thou. livejournal brings my ravenclaw tendencies to the fore; i can't seem to help it. kind of sad, really.

Saturday, Mar. 27, 2004 | 10:18 p.m. | Why Plants Are Better than People: An Arguement

i've been spending most of this last week making a nuisance of myself over on livejournal. i 'm beginning see its allure.

i've come to the conclusion that howevermuch people say thay they're interested in "communities" and talking with people of like-minded interests, that's just a big fat lie. what we like is filling out our profile, taking apart our complex personalities and categorizing ourselves into neat little bits and pieces. with icons. and mood stats. and current music. personal soap-boxes are encouraged, socializing is optional.

this also explains the general fascination with zodiac signs, internet quizzes, and briggs-myers personality tests. it would just be best if we all admitted that we are vain and self-centered; then we could get on with the important stuff.

to answer your hypothetical questions: (a complete and total black sheep of a) leo, year of the monkey. quizzes. intj. and no i will not tell you where my lj is. if you are reasonably clever, you can find it yourself. if you aren't, you'll have to put up with me being secretive. deal.

on to the important stuff:

dozens of little seedlings all over my apartment! nearly everything i've planted so far has put forth one or two shoots. i was inspired (what seems like ages ago) to plant a miniature garden this year and everything seems to be obliging me so far. except for the forget-me-nots. maybe they need a litle more time - the heliotrope only came up today.

i like lying on my bed next to the windowsill watching all of them. sometimes i think i can hear them growing.

(more kameraphone pics coming soon. as soon as get my lazy butt over to photoshop.)
